Laura Kind McKenna, Retired

Laura Kind McKenna was the full-time volunteer Managing Trustee from 1998 to 2016. She retired from the Patricia Kind Family Foundation to focus her energy on family, mission aligned investing, and wealth inequality.  Laura is committed to the importance of Mission Related Investing for Foundations and through her leadership the Foundation became an early adopter of this approach. Laura is a family nurse practitioner. Laura has volunteered weekly as a nurse practitioner at the House of Grace Catholic Worker Free Medical Clinic in Kensington for over thirty years. Laura was employed as nurse practitioner and Director of Student Health Services at La Salle University from 1986 to 1998. Married for forty-eight years to Marc, they have four grown children and thirteen grandchildren. Although planning to get bored and eat bonbons in retirement, Laura continues to work passionately towards a fair and just world for all.
