Kenneth A. Kind has served as a Trustee of the Patricia Kind Family Foundation since it’s inception and currently serves as the Board Treasurer. Mr. Kind is currently retired. He graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1983, and after practicing law for a short time spent most of his professional life in sales and marketing primarily in the pharmaceutical advertising business. Prior to his legal and business career, Ken worked for the Big Brother/Big Sister Association both as a field social worker and then as Director of Recruitment and Public Relations. He also was a volunteer Big Brother to three Little Brothers over fifteen years. He served on the BB/BS Board for ten years, and currently serves on the Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School Board. Since 2014, Ken has been the President of the van Ameringen Foundation, a private family foundation begun by Patricia Kind’s father, Arnold Lewis van Ameringen, sixty years ago. That foundation funds direct service and advocacy programs supporting efforts to improve mental health care, primarily in Philadelphia and New York City. Ken’s been married to Sharon Glickman Kind for over thirty-five years and together they have three grown sons.
